The Department of French at Dalhousie University invites applications
for a full-time tenure-track appointment as Assistant Professor
(commencing July 1, 2003) in Applied Linguistics, with
subspecialization or demonstrable interest in Computer-Assisted
Language Learning / Multimedia. This position is subject to budgetary
approval.

Candidates should have a Ph.D. or Ph.D. in hand, preferably strong
research programme, teaching experience and background directly
related to teaching responsibilities. The selected candidate will be
joining a department of French with solid programs in linguistics,
literature and cultural studies, and should thus have a clear and
enthusiastic commitment to working in such a broad context. Duties
would include teaching beginners', intermediate and advanced language
classes, as well as developing 1st year curriculum using CALL. The
nature of the courses to be taught requires the candidate to be a
native or near-native speaker of French. The salary will be
commensurate with qualifications and experience.

Le d�partement de fran�ais � l'Universit� Dalhousie sollicite des
candidatures au rang de professeur adjoint pour un poste en
linguistique appliqu�e. La date d'entr�e en fonction sera le 1er
juillet 2003. 

Le candidat id�al devra en outre �tre sp�cialis� ou avoir un int�r�t
d�montr� dans le domaine de l'enseignement assist� par ordinateur ou
du multim�dia. Ce poste est sujet � l'approbation budg�taire. Les
qualifications requises sont : un doctorat obtenu avant l'entr�e en
fonction, un solide dossier de recherche et une exp�rience p�dagogique
directement li�e aux charges �ventuelles d'enseignement. Le
d�partement dispose de solides programmes en litt�rature, en
linguistique et en �tudes culturelles, aussi le candidat retenu
devra-t-il manifester un engagement clair et enthousiaste � travailler
dans un contexte multidisciplinaire. Entre autres responsabilit�s, le
candidat enseignera des cours de fran�ais aux niveaux d�butant,
interm�diaire et avanc�, et il �laborera un programme de cours de
premi�re ann�e fond� sur les principes de l'enseignement assist� par
ordinateur. La nature des cours � enseigner exige que le candidat
poss�de une ma�trise parfaite de la langue fran�aise. Le salaire sera
d�termin� en fonction des qualifications et de l'exp�rience du
candidat.
