Applicants must have a PhD in hand at the time of application. Preference will be given to native speakers of English with an excellent academic record (plus teaching experience, if any) from accredited institutions. The base monthly salary for this position is 21,600 baht plus an 8,000 baht housing allowance. The application deadline is 10 December 2002. Plans are now being made to offer a PhD in Linguistics starting in 2004. The Department also publishes the Journal of Language and Linguistics. Currently in its fifteenth year, the Journal is the only specialized linguistics publication of its type in Thailand. It provides a forum for publication of original articles in any area of language, linguistics and language teaching.
