Abstract:
			
Based on a long-term ethnographic and historical study of
French-language minority education in Ontario (Canada), Heller
addresses a range of issues of interest to those concerned with
minority languages, and in particular minority language
education. These issues include the role of language ideologies,
language practices (especially language choice), and policies
regarding language and schooling, in the unfolding of ideas about
identity and of relations of power.
