Last week I iniciated a new mailing list, called The Forum for the History of Linguistics. Already quite a few linguists have joined the list, and I hope that we will be even more soon. This is a list for those of you with an interest in the history of linguistics. It is meant to be somewhere where anyone who is interested in the history of linguistics can ask questions and start discussions, or advertise forthcoming events. It is an informal channel of information and learning, where we should all feel happy to ask for advice and start discussions, etc. I hope you find this useful. If you have any queries regarding the use of this list please contact me at t.lindstromMail to author|Respond to list|Read more issues|LINGUIST home page|Top of issuesheffield.ac.uk. I hope that you will also encourage students to join this list, and soon I hope to be submitting some information to the list about a new website for students of the history of linguistics. If you have any information about places that teach history of the linguistics, I would really appreciate it if you would email me about them, since I hope to include information about this on this new web site. To join the new mailing list, please send an email to: linghist-subscribe
