Second Athens Postgraduate Conference 
in Linguistics (Theoretical, Applied, Modern Greek as Second/Foreign)
University of Athens
14-16 March 2003 

Abstracts are invited for presentation of current postgraduate
research on any area of the above fields. The languages of the
conference are Greek and English. Deadline of Abstracts: 27 January
2003. Notification of Acceptance: 17 February 2003.

Abstracts guidelines:
- Send 2 camera-ready copies of your abstract
- Length: one A4 page (300-350 words)
- Format: 1 spacing, 3cm left/right, top/bottom margins
- Fonts: Times New Roman 12pt
- Title of paper in bold capitals on the left-hand side of the first line
- Author's name, affiliation and address for correspondance in
capitals on the left-hand side of the second line (please let two
blank lines before the abstract).

Accepted papers will alloted 15 minutes for presentation plus 5
minutes for discussion. Please submit your abstract as a Word file or
PDF (we can only accept abstracts sent by e-mail as attachments) to:

PAPERS

Each paper will be allotted 20 minutes for presentation and 10 minutes
for discussion.

Abstracts should be anonymous.

Please send your abstract (maximum 3 pages) by e-mail, in a .doc or
.rtf file containing the abstract, with its title but without the
author's name. A separate file should contain the author's name,
followed by the title of the abstract and by the author's snail mail
and e-mail addresses. Abstracts and identification files should be
sent by 28 February 2003 to the following e-mail address:

The deadline for registration is the 31 August 2002.

Registration fees of 55,00 Euro are payable (in cash) at the
conference desk, which will be open at the following times: Wednesday
24 September from 5 to 8 pm; Thursday 25 September from 9 to12 am;
Friday 26 September from 9 to12 am. Undergraduate and graduate
students are exempt from registration fees but should nevertheless
send the registration form.

a) By car:
from the A24 motorway (Rome - Teramo). Exit:

Buses for L'Aquila leave from Tiburtina Station.

How to reach Tiburtina Station:

>From Fiumicino airport trains leave every 15 minutes between 6.27 am
and 9.27 pm, and every 30 minutes between 9.27 pm and 11.27 pm; trains
are less frequent on Sundays and holidays. The journey takes about 40
minutes. The trains timetable is available at http://www.trenitalia.it

>From Ciampino airport, take the bus to Anagnina (buses leave every 20
minutes). At Anagnina, take the underground, A line, direction
Battistini, to Termini. In Termini, change to the B line, direction
Rebibbia, and get off at Tiburtina Station. The whole journey from
Ciampino airport to Tiburtina station takes about one hour.

Tiburtina may also be reached by underground (B line) from Termini
train station. The journey takes about 10 minutes.

Bus tickets to L'Aquila must be bought at the ARPA ticket agency,
located near the Tiburtina bus station. The journey to L'Aquila (city
centre, Piazza Battaglione degli Alpini - ''Fontana Luminosa'') takes
about one hour and 40 minutes.

PESCARA - L'AQUILA

Pescara Bus station is situated in Piazza della Repubblica by the main
train station.

Buses from Pasquale Liberi Airport to the bus station leave every 10
minutes (from 5.30 am to 11.30 pm). The journey time is about 10
minutes.

Bus tickets to L'Aquila must be bought at the ARPA ticket agency,
located near the bus terminal. The journey to L'Aquila
(city centre, Piazza Battaglione degli Alpini - ''Fontana Luminosa'')
takes about one hour and 50 minutes.
