Dear All, As you probably know, over the last year we have been working hard on creating the new LINGUIST List website, designed around a relational database, which makes it possible to properly classify all our records and make them searchable by linguistic sub-field and subject language. This immense task is now nearing its conclusion. One of the last remaining sections of the website has just been completed. We proudly present the new Calls and Conferences Area Please take a moment to check out this new area of the site, either by following the "Calls and Conferences" link from our home page, or by going directly to http://linguistlist.org/callconf Already we have around 300 conferences in our database, and this number is increasing quickly as users enter new announcements, conference programs, and calls for papers. In the Calls and Conferences Area you can: - Browse all upcoming conferences by date, subject language, or linguistic sub-field. - Browse current calls for papers, i.e. conferences that are right now accepting papers for presentation; again by date, subject language, or linguistic sub-field. - Browse all conference meetings by year. - Search for a particular conference by title, location, keyword, date, subject language, and/or linguistic subfield. - Submit a conference announcement, conference program, or call for papers via convenient and easy-to-use web-input forms. - Update information about your conference. We hope that this latest addition to the many facilities now available will greatly benefit the linguistic community. In addition to your calls and conference announcements being disseminated to our 16,500 subscribers in 105 countries as before, the new Calls and Conferences Area allows detailed and highly specialized searching in seconds, and cross-referencing with all the other key areas of our site.
