Title: Existential Faithfulness Subtitle: A Study of Reduplicative TETU, Feature Movement, and Dissimilation Series Title: Outstanding Dissertations in Linguistics Publication Year: 2002 Publisher: Routledge (Taylor and Francis) http://www.routledge.com/ Author: Caro Struijke, Vrije Universiteit Hardback: ISBN: 0415941539, Pages: 199, Price: $70.00 Abstract: Existential Faithfulness studies the nature of underlying-surface relations in phonology, arguing for the centrality of existential faithfulness. Caro Struijke argues that faithfulness constraints on the input-output correspondence relation demand that each input element has some output correspondent, and they are thus existentially quantified. It is also argued that reduplication and feature displacement involve segmental fission.
