The Linguistic Data Consortium (LDC) is pleased to announce the
availability of the 1998 HUB5 English Evaluation. The 1998 Hub-5 
Evaluation is part of an ongoing series of evaluations conducted by
NIST. The focus of the evaluation was on the task of transcribing 
conversational telephone speech into text. The evaluation material
was drawn from the LDC publications, LDC97S62 SWITCHBOARD-1 Release 2,
LDC98S75 Switchboard-2 Phase 1, and LDC97S42 CALLHOME American English
Speech.
