An M.A. student of mine is working on the syntax of Cuban Spanish. We are therefore looking for - specific constructions which seem to be restricted to the Spanish spoken in Cuba - constructions present in the syntax of Cuban Spanish which show up in other (but not in all) varieties of Spanish - bibliographical references of all sorts with respect to Cuban Spanish Syntax (even isolated examples in general works of syntax). Of course we know Kany's "American Spanish Syntax", but there the specific references to Cuban Spanish are scarce, not always explicit, and, anyway, most of the subjects he deals with are not syntax proper (but rather morphology or lexicon related. We will be grateful for every (even very small) hint and post a summary of the results. Yours sincerely Guido Mensching Professor of Romance Linguistics Freie Universitaet Berlin (Germany) menschMail to author|Respond to list|Read more issues|LINGUIST home page|Top of issuelingrom.fu-berlin.de
