The Association (http://www.ruhr-uni-bochum.de/eacl/) is soliciting contributions on all aspects of Chinese linguistics as well as related areas, such as minority and/or endangered languages in China, interfaces between language and literature, history, or religion. Papers dealing with Chinese language pedagogy will not be considered. Abstracts should be sent to the organizing committee, preferably by e-mail or via the web-interafce available at the conference web site. Abstracts may be submitted in English, French or Chinese. All abstracts will remain unpublished untill the final decision by the international scientific committee. Please do not exceed 30 lines. *** N.b., the deadline for submission of abstracts was originally fixed to March 31st, 2003, but has been extended to April 20, 2003 *** Registration for participating at the conference is fixed at 40 Euro/person. Payment will be accepted in cash only, at the moment of registration conform the conference schedule, i.e. on September 7th, in the early evening. The conference will take place in ''Het Pand'', an old Dominican monastery, located in the heart of the city on the banks of the river Leie, near the medieval port of Ghent.
