University or Organization: University of Exeter (England) Department: Modern Languages Rank of Job: Lecturer Specialty Areas: French or Spanish or Italian Description: University of Exeter (England) School of Modern Languages Lecturer in French (Reference: 6452) Lecturer in Hispanic Studies (Reference: 6453) Lecturer in Italian (Reference: 6454) The University is seeking to appoint three permanent lectureships in Modern Languages from 1 September 2003. For all three posts, the successful candidates will have at least near-native command of the language concerned, including the ability to teach non-language courses through the medium of that language and English. They will have proven research interests and outstanding research potential and have completed, or be close to completing, a PhD or its equivalent. For the French post, applications are invited from candidates with research specialisms which complement and strengthen French's existing profile; for Hispanic Studies, preference will be given to candidates offering specialisms in medieval or Golden Age literature; for Italian, the requirement is for twentieth-century Italian Studies, within which a specialism in film would be particularly welcome. For each post the starting salary will be between �23,296 and �26,270.
