CHAIR OF LINGUISTICS
La Trobe University

The Linguistics program is located in the School of Communication,
Arts and Critical Enquiry within the Faculty of Humanities and Social
Sciences. It has a small group of dedicated staff who have a strong
and active research tradition, and a successful research-based
postgraduate programme together with offering a range of undergraduate
subjects. They also have effective links with the Research Centre of
Linguistic Typology (a part of the University's Institute of Advanced
Study).

Following the impending retirement of Professor Barry Blake, the
Faculty seeks to appoint a distinguished scholar capable of providing
academic leadership as the Professor of Linguistics.

The University reserves the right not to make an appointment or to
appoint by invitation.

Duration:		full-time continuing position

Remuneration: 		Aus$121,576 per annum (effective 30 June 2003)
 which includes 17% employer superannuation 
			contributions.
