Teaching is organised in six schools or institutes: Dutch, History, archaeology and regional studies, Language and literature, Philosophy, Art, religion and cultural studies, and Mediastudies. The faculty aims to provide a broadly based, internationally oriented academic environment. It offers a critical and creative intellectual climate, in which independence of thought and a strong sense of commitment to contemporary society and the local community are paramount. The Spanish Department, part of the school of Language and literature, invites applications for the following post: A tenure track post in Spanish Language job vacancy number 9206 The successful candidate will: - Teach courses in Spanish Language both in the Bachelor and Master programme, as well as participate, together with other linguists, in the research MA in Linguistics, offered by the faculty; - Supervise BA and MA theses; - Carry out research in Spanlish Language; - Participate in the administration of the Spanish Department. Research experience is essential (completed PhD and publications in international journals or books). The candidate should be an experienced teacher and have affinity with students. The initial appointment is for a period of two years, at the end of which a decision will be taken as to tenure.
