The Center for Applied Linguistics (CAL) is currently conducting field testing of an innovative web based test of Arabic reading and listening proficiency. We would like to extend an invitation to schools offering Arabic language classes this summer to participate in the field test. The test is delivered over the Internet using a secure browser that your institution must download onto the computers at which students will take the test. These computers must be PCs (sorry, not Macs) with connections to the Internet. Another requirement would be for the institution to provide a proctor for the test to assure security and field questions. Test responses are fed back to CAL's server so there is no burden on the institution to prepare and package the responses. If you are interested in participating, please contact Jim Bauman at jimMail to author|Respond to list|Read more issues|LINGUIST home page|Top of issuecal.org for further information or check the Webtest project web site at http://www.cal.org/projects/webtest. We look forward to hearing from you. Subject-Language: Arabic, Standard; Code: ABV
