Description:

The Faculty of Language, Literature, Culture of the University of
Giessen invites applications for the position of a Professor for
English Linguistics and the History of the English Language (German C3
scale).

The vacancy is to be filled at the earliest possible convenience. The
application deadline is 11-Sep-2003.

Research and teaching must cover the full scope of present-day and
historical English linguistics. You will be required to teach students
of all the courses in the English department, in particular ''Modern
Foreign Languages'', ''Magister Artium'', and all EFL courses. Active
participation in designing new courses and in interdisciplinary
co-operation is imperative.

The official language of the university is German. Thus, your
knowledge of the German language must be of an adequate standard.
