What is the optimal architecture for phonological theory? This symposium presents state of the art work on these issues in phonological theory by leading researchers. Each question will be broken down into three topics, and each topic will consist of a major presentation by a leading researcher, followed by commentary from three others. There will be a total of seven sessions: In addition to these six papers, a final presentation will discuss critical challenges and future directions for phonological theory.
