Description:

Two positions are being advertised. Those appointed to these
positions will be expected to contribute substantially to the research
programme of the School, to teach in the undergraduate and graduate
programmes, and to supervise to PhD level.

Applicants to these positions should have a special interest in one or
more of the following areas:

- The teaching of reading: a specific interest in adult ESOL literacy
 would be an advantage.
- Classroom-based second language acquisition
- The description of English for pedagogical purposes

In addition to the core areas above, any additional experience in one
or more of the following areas would be particularly welcome:
	
- The teaching of English as a second or foreign language in primary
 or secondary schools
- International language teacher education

- Research, project work or teaching in any of the following areas:
	-	programme evaluation 
	-	technology in language education
	- English for academic purposes including English for 
		science and technology
	-	sociolinguistics and/or cross-cultural pragmatics
