The department invites applications from outstanding candidates in any areas of linguistics, but its highest priorities are currently in phonetics/phonology and sociolinguistics. Candidates must hold the Ph.D. in linguistics or a related field by the starting date. Stanford University is an equal opportunity, affirmative action employer.
