Reporting Discourse, Tense and Cognition by Tomoko I. Sakita wins the 37th Ichikawa Award for outstanding work in the field of linguistics. The Ichikawa Award was established in 1966, when Dr Sanki Ichikawa, a prominent Japanese linguist, donated a sum of money to the Institute for Research in Language Teaching to mark his eightieth birthday. Since then the prize has become renowned amongst linguists in Japan and it is considered a great honour to receive it. Our congratulations go to Tomoko for this well-deserved recognition.
