To all subscribers: We apologize for any difficulties you may be experiencing in trying to access and/or navigate the LINGUIST List. As indicated in a message sent out on October 16, 2003 (LINGUIST List 14.2803), we are in the process of changing servers. We expect that, due to this server move, most of our functions will not be working for the remainder of the day and, perhaps, most of tomorrow. We are extremely grateful to the Universities of Edinburgh, Stockholm, and Tuebingen which all maintain mirrors of the linguistlist.org website. These mirror websites will still be available when the main linguistlist.org site is not. On the mirrors, links to web forms and most search engines will not be operational, but you will still find back issues, links to other web resources, and a lot of the information relating to jobs, calls and conferences, and so on. The URLs for the mirrors are as follows. Please use the one physically closer to you; it should be faster. Edinburgh, UK: http://www.ling.ed.ac.uk/linguist/ Stockholm, Sweden: http://linguist-mirror.ling.su.se/ Tuebingen, Germany: http://www.sfs.nphil.uni-tuebingen.de/linguist/ As mentioned in the October 16th message, this is a very big move for us. The new server, awarded us by Sun Microsystems under their Academic Equipment Grant Program, will replace our old machine that has become sluggish from all the demands we have been putting on it. We are also taking this opportunity to upgrade some of our software and implement some new systems. Once the new server is up and running, we should provide a considerably faster and more reliable service. Again, we appreciate your patience during this time, and as always, we are very grateful for your support. With best regards, - Helen, Anthony and the LINGUIST List crewMail to author|Respond to list|Read more issues|LINGUIST home page|Top of issue
