Akustyk is a vowel analysis add-on to Praat (http://praat.org). It features an extensible architecture to include vowel inventories of many languages and dialects. Akustyk helps achieve the highest level of precision, consistency in the analysis of formants (in Hz and Bark, formant bandwidths, formant amplitudes, voicing (5 different parameters), duration, and intensity. Akustyk provides a high level of data gathering automation, flexible graphs and plots, 4 vowel normalization procedures, and statistical procedures.
