Dear colleagues, a couple of months ago we posted a query on the discourse functions of nominal forms of address (LINGUIST 14.2130). While response has not been as extensive as we wished for, we have been able to add a few interesting items to our bibliography which helped shed light on the instances of address in our data. We would like to thank the following respondents: Maria Wowk Robert E. Sanders William Mann Gene Lerner Siri Mehus Marina Terkourafi Find a summary of the materials we came across in the wake of our query at http://www.uni-saarland.de/fak4/norrick/introduction/ToA.htm Best wishes, Claudia Bubel and Alice Spitz - - --- --- --- --- --- --- --- --- --- --- Claudia Bubel Fachrichtung 4.3 Anglistik Universitaet des Saarlandes Postfach 15 11 50 D-66041 Saarbruecken Tel.: +49 - 681 - 302 - 2270 e-mail: c.bubelMail to author|Respond to list|Read more issues|LINGUIST home page|Top of issuemx.uni-saarland.de url: http://www.uni-saarland.de/fak4/norrick/ Everyday language is a part of the human organism and is no less complicated than it. - Ludwig Wittgenstein
