UNIVERSITY COLLEGE LONDON DEPARTMENT OF HUMAN COMMUNICATION SCIENCE PhD STUDENTSHIP IN HUMAN COMMUNICATION The Department is one of the largest UK centres for education and research in communication disorders. It gained a rating of 5 in the last RAE and has ESRC recognition for PhD and MSc research training programmes. This PhD Studentship offers an opportunity to graduates who would like to pursue research within one of the following departmental research groups: - Development of language and communication; cognitive science - Disorders of language and communication; brain bases of language and communication - Outcome and policy research in relation to language and communication and the delivery of relevant support services; health studies For details of current research activity, see the Departmental web page: http://www.ucl.ac.uk/HCS/; or the Human Communication Science Graduate Prospectus, obtainable from Mrs Sarah Alleemudder at the address below. You would receive a tax-free stipend of �12,500 per annum and your fees would be paid (Home/EU rate only). You would also be offered up to six hours a week of teaching for which you would be paid extra. You should have a BSc/BA (1st or 2.1) and/or MSc/MA, or equivalent, in speech and language therapy, speech sciences, linguistics, psychology or a related subject. You should also be able to demonstrate exceptional research potential and are likely to have undertaken recent graduate study.
