University or Organization: King's College London Department: Computer Science Rank of Job: Researcher Specialty Areas: Syntax Description: Applications are invited for a fixed term Research Associate (RAIA) post in syntactic theory, for appointment from 1st February 2004 to 31 December 2005, in the Department of Computer Science, King's College London. Closing date for applications is 8th January 2004, with interviews for the post to be held as soon as possible thereafter. The successful applicant will participate in a newly funded collaborative AHRB-funded project on ''Noun Phrase Agreement and Coordination'' directed by Dr. Louisa Sadler (at the University of Essex) and Dr. Mary Dalrymple (at King's College, London). The project will conduct a number of empirical studies of the interaction of coordination and agreement (inside and outside the NP), and on the basis of these empirical studies will develop a formal theory of agreement within the framework of Lexical Functional Grammar.
