"Key" would be another example of a noun used as an adjective that somehow does not ring true as predicate adjeective. Although "The game was fun" works, "The game was key" does not seem to. Any comments on this? -Joe LaCour lestertradMail to author|Respond to list|Read more issues|LINGUIST home page|Top of issueonline.fr
