Description:

The Department of Language and Linguistics wishes to appoint, from 1
September 2003, an energetic and enthusiastic academic with research
interests and expertise in the psycholinguistic study of language
comprehension and/or production in different populations. The person
appointed will have the opportunity to develop courses in his or her
specialist area(s) for undergraduate and postgraduate students, and
will be expected to supervise doctoral students. He or she will also
offer a clearly defined programme of personal research for the next
5-year period, and will be prepared to explore collaborative research
possibilities with existing staff members. 

The person appointed will also be expected to supervise the
Department's Psycholinguistics Laboratory. Anyone who has just
completed, or is about to complete, a PhD in a relevant area
(linguistics, psychology, cognitive science) is encouraged to
apply. Appointment to this permanent post will be on the Lecturer A
scale 20,470-24,435 GBP per annum or the Lecturer B scale
25,455-32,537 GBP per annum and will be commensurate with the
successful applicants qualifications, experience and
achievements.
