take a moment to read his personal message.

Dear Linguists,

How many restaurants or email lists offer the services you get at the
LINGUIST List?

a. Moderation - just think what you *don't* see, and thank the staff
for filtering it out - political tracts, flaming, etc.

b. Digestion - different packages to suit different appetites, and
every item carefully listed on the menu; deletion has never been so
easy.

c. Retention - in case you're that way inclined, relax. They do it for
you. You don't need to clog up your system with old messages when
they're all archived centrally.

d. Information - the server knows everything you want to know about
linguistics.

And when did you last go to a restaurant without paying for it?

Please send me one of the "tote bags" Gosh, I don't like the name of
these things! Wonder how this entered the language? Where I come from,
we tote things, but we don't call what we do it with a "tote bag"!! Oh

a registered 501(c) Non Profit organization. Our Federal Tax number
is 38-6005986. These donations can be offset against your federal and
sometimes your state tax return (U.S. tax payers only). For more

Many companies also offer a gift matching scheme, such that they will
match any gift you make to a non-profit organization. Normally this
entails your contacting your human resources department and sending us
a form that the EMU Foundation fills in and returns to your employer.

value of your gift to LINGUIST, without costing you an extra
