Description:

The English Department of Vienna University is seeking to fill the
position of a Visiting Professor for the Winter Term 2003/04 (October
1st - January 31st). Applicants should have an excellent research
record (beyond the PhD level; comparable to the Austrian
"Habilitation"), as well as experience in university teaching.

Their research should cover as many as possible of the following
areas: sociolinguistic theories and methods; varieties of English;
dialectal topography. Specialisation in Canadian English would be a
plus.
