University or Organization: University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign Department: Linguistics Rank of Job: Assistant Professor Specialty Areas: Sociolinguistics Description: The Department of Linguistics at the University of Illinois, Urbana-Champaign, has an opening for a Visiting Assistant Professor of Linguistics, with specialization in sociolinguistics, for the academic year 2004-2005 (August 16th 2004-August 15th 2005). Candidates should be prepared to teach courses at the undergraduate and graduate levels in language contact/multingualism, and dialectology with special emphasis on American dialects.
