KONVENS 2004 - Call for Participation 14 -17 September 2004 in Vienna, Austria Early bird registration deadline: 12 July 2004 http://www.oefai.at/konvens2004/ KONVENS (''KOnferenz zur VErarbeitung Natuerlicher Sprache'' / Conference for the Processing of Natural Language and Speech) is being held every two years since 1992, organised in turn by the following scientific societies: DEGA, DGfS, GI, GLDV, ITG und OEGAI. In 2004, the seventh KONVENS will be held from September 14-17, organized by OEGAI at the University of Vienna. Subject of the conference are all aspects of (computational) language and speech processing. At Konvens 2004, 24 full papers as well as 14 short papers (posters) will be presented (see website for titles of papers). The conference program includes a tutorial by Elisabeth Andre (Univ. Augsburg) on Embodied Conversational Agents, a workshop on Advanced Topics in Modeling Natural Language Dialog, organized by Helmut Horacek and Ivana Kruijff-Korbayova (Saarland Univ.), and an invited talk by Hans Uszkoreit from DFKI. The social program features a half-day excursion to Melk monastery and the beautiful Wachau valley. Daedline for claiming the early bird registration fee is July 12, 2004.
