University or Organization: Max Planck Institute for Psycholinguistics Department: Language & Cognition Rank of Job: Doctoral student Specialty Areas: Language, culture and cognition Description: The Language & Cognition Group at the Max Planck Institute for Psycholinguistics seeks candidates for a 3 year doctoral student fellowship to work in one of the group's primary projects (Event Representation, Multimodal Interaction, Space). We are particularly interested in a candidate to work on one of the following themes: (1) Social interaction/discourse structure and grammar (2) The relation between grammatical/semantic categories and cognition Candidates must be in possession of an MA and training in communication, linguistics, psychology or linguistic anthropology, and should either have a good working knowledge, or be a native speaker, of a non-Indo-European language.
