The Linguistics Department at the University of Maryland invites
applications for an open rank position in Phonology beginning August
2005. Applicants for the position should already have a PhD or expect
to have one by next August, should be prepared to teach courses at
both the undergraduate and graduate level, and should have a solid
foundation in linguistic theory. We especially encourage applicants
who share the department's interest in the psychology of language.
Teaching experience at the university level is also highly desirable.

Letters of application should indicate whether applicants plan to
attend the January LSA meeting in San Francisco. Applicants should
send a current CV and a sample of work for the selection committee to
read; and they should arrange to have three letters of reference sent.
For best consideration, applications should arrive by December 1,
2004. EO/AAE.
