The Sixth International Symposium on Applied Linguistics and Language
Teaching (Beijing-Shanghai) now announces its second call for papers.

Aug. 11 Sight-seeing in the morning in Beijing & flight to Shanghai in
the afternoon
Aug. 12-13 Conference in Shanghai, with a night tour of the Bund &

6. Requirements for abstracts:

Papers are invited for a 20-minute presentation in all areas of second
or foreign language teaching and skill developing and from any
theoretical perspective. Send one copy of a one-page abstract for
review. (There may be an additional page for references.) The abstract
must specify which meeting you wish to present in (Beijing or Shanghai
or both), title of paper, author's name, academic affiliation, current
and summer address, phone and fax number, e-mail, and audiovisual
requests. Abstracts must be on a single page, single spaced, in
12-point type, with one inch margins. Abstracts may be submitted via
e-mail or mail. If submitted via email, they may be included in the
body of the e-mail message or as an attachment. Please do not send
abstracts by fax.

8.All presented papers will be published in the Proceedings of the 6th
International Symposium on Applied Linguistics and Language Teaching
one year after the conference. The proceedings will be sent to their
authors by mail.

9.Fees
 9.1. For the Beijing portion only: US$550.00
 9.2. For the Shanghai portion only: US$500.00
 9.3. For both Beijing & Shanghai, incl. the flight from Beijing to
Shanghai: US$1100.00.

These fees include US$100.00 for registration and all other expenses
(food, accommodation,transportation, tickets, and a complimentary copy
of the proceedings, etc.). They are for double-room in a four-star
hotel or above. For single room, add $20 per person per day.

Tagung

Die Konferenz ''Methodenprobleme in interkulturellen Forschungen''
soll auf diejenigen Herausforderungen in der Germanistik eingehen, in
deren Rahmen linguistische, literaturwissenschaftliche und didaktische
Problemstellungen kultur(en)abhängig-interkulturell angegangen
werden. Ziel der Veranstaltung ist es, Forschungskontexte
bzw. -konzepte, Gegenstände, Inhalte und paradigmatische
Fragestellungen einer interkulturellen Betrachtungsweise in der
einschlägigen Forschung z.T. in Form einer Bestandsaufnahme zu
diskutieren.
