Subject: Storybase - A Dictionary of Narrative Situations
Storybase is an interesting attept at indexing narrative situations. It is
comprised of over 2,000 unique narrative primitives that have been written
(in English) without gender pronouns and without culture-specific
references. Thus Storybase represents a common human denominator.
The primitives have been indexed according to the mindset, or mental state
of the 'characters' and the thrust, or action of the situations. 'Mindset'
and 'Thrust' appear to be an attempt at achieving a synthesis of objective
and subjective viewpoints.
