The LINGUIST List strongly encourages employers to use
non-discriminatory standards in hiring policy. In particular we urge
that employers do not discriminate on the grounds of race, ethnicity,
nationality, age, religion, gender, or sexual orientation. However, we
have no means of enforcing these standards.
Job seekers should pay special attention to language in ads regarding
employment requirements and are encouraged to consult our international
employment page http://linguistlist.org/jobnet.html.
This page has been set up so that people can report on the employment
standards of various countries.

Description:
Beginning on the 1st of March, 2005, the Graduate Program 'Linguistic
representations and their interpretation' at the University of Stuttgart, in the
German-French cooperation program with the Doctoral School 'Cognition, language,
interaction' at the Université de Paris VIII is offering a post-doctoral
fellowship in linguistics.
The postdoc-fellowship will be given initially for 14 months and for a maximum
of two years (contingent upon the renewal of the graduate program by the
Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft). The fellow will work on a precisely described
or already initiated research topic, preferably touching on at least two of the
four concentrations of the German-French program listed below. Criteria for
selection are a PhD, preferably in Romance or General Linguistics, and very good
knowledge of French, English and German.
In connection with the thematically broad program of study, the postdoctoral
fellow will help the doctoral fellows to recognize larger related issues outside
of their more narrowly defined research projects, to find connections to
research both inside the graduate program and out, and especially to orient them
with the appropriate knowledge of the research approaches being pursued on the
German and French sides so that they can profit optimally from their stay at the
partner University.
The postdoctoral fellowship currently pays at least 1365 Euros per month.
