We are currently seeking an Acquisitions Editor to be a strategic part of our Academic & Science Books Division. Qualifications: Candidate is required to have demonstrated effective business communication (written and verbal) and presentation skills, including the ability to present arguments clearly and convincingly one-on-one and in a group setting. Project and relationship management skills are essential, including the ability to relate successfully to a variety of people externally and internally and to form strong relationships with authors and editors. This position requires strong organizational skills and a keen attention to detail, along with the demonstrated ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously. A high level of diplomacy, along with demonstrated effective negotiation and problem-solving skills are essential. Candidate must be computer literate and proficient in MS Word and Excel. Must be willing and able to travel up to 20% of the time (local and international) and be able to undertake some weekend work. Supervisory skills and/or experience, specifically in performance management and mentoring, are a plus. A minimum of 4 year's experience in publishing with increasing responsibility - experience in acquisitions highly desirable; and a Bachelor's Degree are required. Experience in academic textbook publishing a strong plus.
