Description:

The School of Advanced International Studies (SAIS) at Johns Hopkins University,
located in Washington, D.C., invites applications for Hindi/Urdu Language
Program Coordinator for 2005-2006. This is a full-time one-year appointment with
possibility of renewal. Duties include teaching Hindi/Urdu language courses,
syllabus design, and supervision of Hindi/Urdu language instructors.

The ideal candidate will have:
(a) a master's degree in Hindi/Urdu, Applied Linguistics, or Education (ADB or
PhD preferred),
(b) strong teaching experience in Hindi/Urdu,
(c) interest in content-based instruction (topics in International Development &
Politics),
(d) experience in curriculum and language teaching materials development,
(e) knowledge of current language teaching methodology,
(f) expertise in the use of technology-mediated instruction,
(g) native language proficiency in Hindi or Urdu.
