University or Organization: University of Maryland, College Park Department: School of Languages, Literatures, and Cultures Job Rank: Post-doc or ABD Specialty Areas: Language Acquisition; Psycholinguistics; Second Language Acquisition, Language Measurement Description: Faculty Research Assistant 9- or 12-month position (renewable, pending availablility of funding and satisfactory performance), suitable for ABD or recent post-doc, to work half-time (20 hours per week) or full-time (40 hours per week) on a study of adult foreign language learning. Qualifications: Native speaker of English. Ph.D. or ABD in SLA, developmental or applied linguistics, psycholinguistics, or equivalent; rigorous training in research methods and statistics; experience with the development and validation of language measures (elicited imitation, grammaticality and acceptability judgment tests, etc.) and/or other language testing instruments. Start date: ASAP. Salary (full-time): $45,000 for 9 months, $60,000 for 12 months, full benefits.
