Call for Papers World Englishes Edited by Tometro Hopkins, Florida International University. Continuum is delighted to announce the forthcoming publication of World Englishes, a twelve-volume reference set presenting a comprehensive, detailed survey of English as it is spoken all over the world. Chapters cover: - Demographic data - Geographical position - Historical background - Socio-cultural and linguistic background - Linguistic description of the components of the grammar - English usage within the region - Social, political and economic impact of English within the region - Future implications The World Englishes volumes are at an advanced stage, and more than fifty internationally renowned scholars from many different countries have already contributed to these volumes. We are also soliciting for additional contributors who would be interested in writing a 5,000 to 8,000 word chapter on a variety of English in which they are a specialist.
