University or Organization: University of Pittsburgh Department: Department of Linguistics Job Rank: Programmer Specialty Areas: Language Technology Description: The Language Technologist will provide hardware and technical support to the Robert Henderson Language Media Center, primarily for Pittsburgh Science of Learning Center (PSLC) research projects. These projects include speaking and feedback errors, vocabulary and reading development, writing and error correction, and other projects as proposed. Technical support includes maintaining multiple servers, as well as CTAT, REAP and LTI software; integrating software and OLI assessment tools with hardware servers; writing software for interfacing between software programs. This position requires a bachelor's degree in computer science, instructional technology or related field and two years experience with designing databases.
