University or Organization: Nanzan University Department: Department of Japanese Studies Job Rank: Assistant Professor or Associate Professor Specialty Areas: Japanese Language Pedagogy, Second Language Acquisition Required Language(s): Japanese (JPN) Description: The Department of Japanese Studies in the Faculty of Humanities at Nanzan University invites applications for an assistant professor (koshi) or an associate professor (jokyoju) beginning April 1, 2006. Responsibilities include teaching Japanese language to exchange students, planning and coordinating language curriculum courses in the Center for Japanese Studies program, and teaching Japanese courses related to Japanese language pedagogy in Department of Japanese Studies. Successful candidate must have a Ph.D. in Japanese language pedagogy, applied linguistics, second language acquisition or related fields; native or near-native fluency in both Japanese and English; and have over 5 years of experience in teaching at the college level. To ensure full consideration for the position, application must be postmarked on or before June 30, 2005.
