Description:
Applications are invited for a Lectureship in Japanese Linguistics/Applied
Linguistics.
The successful candidate will be expected to teach Japanese language in
BA and MA classes within the Department of the Languages and Cultures of
Japan and Korea. Fluency in Japanese is essential and prior experience of
teaching the speaking, reading and writing of Japanese as a foreign
language effectively to students at various levels is preferred.
The successful candidate will also have teaching and research expertise in at
least one of the following fields: second language acquisition, language
pedagogy, language testing, the theory and practice of translation.
Applicants should already hold a Ph.D, or be on the point of completing
their Ph.D thesis, in a relevant topic, and have either a track record of
scholarly research or demonstrable research potential. The position will
commence in September 2005.
