University or Organization: Universitaet Konstanz Department: Department of Linguistics Job Rank: Junior Professor Specialty Areas: Romance Language and Linguistics Description: The Faculty of Humanities invites applications for the position of Junior Professor (German W1 level) in the Department of Linguistics, with specialization in Romance Language and Linguistics (focussing on Italian and French). Applicants must have a Ph.D. and should have a promising research record in at least one of the following areas: phonology, morphology, syntax, or semantics. The appointment will initially be for 3 years, extendable by another 3 years. The teaching load is 4 hours per week for the first 2 years, and 6 hours later. Successful candidates are expected to participate in a collaborative research programme, SFB 471, entitled 'Variation and Development in the Lexicon'. After completion of six years the position will be advertised as a tenured position (Professor/German W 3 Level). The holder of the position 'Junior Professor/W 1' may apply for the future tenured position.
