University or Organization: Queen Mary, University of London Department: Linguistics Job Rank: Assistant Professor Specialty Areas: General Linguistics; Phonology Description: The Department of Linguistics in the School of Modern Languages has an outstanding research and teaching record (a 5* rating in Research Assessment Exercise 2001, 23/24 in Teaching Quality Assessment). To develop further its research and teaching, the School intends to appoint a member of staff in Linguistics. The candidate will be expected to teach phonology at undergraduate level, but applications from candidates with research expertise in any area are welcomed. The appointment will be made on Lecturer B scale, salary in the range of £30,123 to £38,017 per annum or the Senior Lecturer/Reader scale £39,692 to £44,707 per annum, (both inclusive of London Allowance), commensurate with the qualifications and experience.
