University or Organization: Massachusetts Institute of Technology Department: Linguistics and Philosophy Job Rank: Assistant Professor Specialty Areas: Phonetics; Phonology; Semantics Description: The Department of Linguistics & Philosophy at MIT invites applications for a tenure-track position at the assistant professor level, starting September 1, 2006. The appointment will be made in an area that builds on current research initiatives in the Department. These include, but are not limited to, the phonology/phonetics interface, semantics, and field-work on indigenous languages. We seek applicants that will enhance the breadth and depth of the department in its research, teaching, and advising mission at the graduate and undergraduate levels. Applicants should send a letter of application, curriculum vitae, copies of research papers, evidence of teaching ability, and three letters of reference to the address below. Departmental representatives will be present at the LSA meeting in Albuquerque, NM to conduct preliminary interviews.
