We'd like to remind readers that the responses to queries are usually best posted to the individual asking the question. That individual is then strongly encouraged to post a summary to the list. This policy was instituted to help control the huge volume of mail on LINGUIST; so we would appreciate your cooperating with it whenever it seems appropriate. In addition to posting a summary, we'd like to remind people that it is usually a good idea to personally thank those individuals who have taken the trouble to respond to the query. To post to LINGUIST, use our convenient web form at http://linguistlist.org/LL/posttolinguist.html.

I am doing my research project and it mainly consists of adapating (to the maltese language) the reading and spelling section of the PALPA. I am finding some problems in adapting nonwords to maltese> are there any studies which focus on how other languages adapted nonwords to their language. are there any criteria that are needed to adapt nonwords are they are standard for every language?

I'm working on a masters thesis about US-American political direct mail. Does anyone know of any archives where I can find samples of political direct mail from the last 40 years? If you can help me out, please e-mail to akirchherr hotmail.com. Thanks very much in advance! Angela
