University or Organization: The University of Texas at Austin Department: Spanish and Portuguese Job Rank: Associate Professor Specialty Areas: Language Acquisition; Spanish Language, Second Language Acquisition Required Language(s): Spanish (spa) Description: Tenured position at the rank of Associate or Full Professor in Spanish linguistics, beginning September 1, 2006. Native or near-native proficiency in Spanish, excellent teaching and scholarly credentials required. Training in foreign language methodology, second-language acquisition, and teaching with technology strongly desired. Will coordinate lower-division Spanish and Portuguese teaching with the assistance of a Ph.D. methodologist. Teaching load is two courses per year.
