University or Organization: Center for General Linguistics (ZAS) Job Rank: Post Doc Specialty Areas: Semantics Description: The Center for General Linguistics (ZAS) in Berlin, Germany has an opening starting January 1st, 2006 (pending final approval of funding) for either one postdoctoral researcher or two PhD-students. This advertisement is for the potential postdoctoral researcher. The position is in the interdisciplinary CHLaSC-project. The project is coordinated by Manfred Krifka and Uli Sauerland and involves partners in Groningen, Manchester, Potsdam, and St. Andrews. The advertised position is limited to three years. The appointment would be made at the BAT O IIa pay-scale for a postdoc (about 40.000/year depending on age and family status). Desirable skills include: - broad general background in linguistics - research on the semantics of clausal embedding and model-theoretic semantic description - interest to work in an interdisciplinary team with psychologists, anthropologists, and biologists For further information regarding this position please contact chlasc zas.gwz-berlin.de.
