University or Organization: University of Toronto Department: Spanish and Portuguese/Linguistics Job Rank: Assistant Professor Specialty Areas: Syntax Required Language(s): Spanish (spa) Description: Position in Hispanic Linguistics SPA 60%, LIN 40% Applications are invited for a tenure-stream position in Hispanic Linguistics at the rank of Assistant Professor, to be held jointly in the Department of Spanish and Portuguese and the Department of Linguistics at the University of Toronto, effective 1 July 2006. Required: PhD in Spanish or Linguistics, with a strong research record in syntactic theory; evidence of potential for sustained excellence in research; evidence of excellence in teaching; willingness to teach intermediate and advanced language courses; native or near-native fluency in Spanish and English. Salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience. Applications must be received by November 15, 2005.
