Subject: Meeting/email list for journal editors

At the last several LSA Annual Meetings a general meeting of editors of
linguistics journals has taken place in order to share and discuss mutual
concerns and problems and the like. In addition, there is an e-mail list
for journal editors to discuss concerns. The traffic is low on this list,
and it provides an excellent forum for discussion of areas of common
interest. In the past year, work has gone into developing a common style
sheet for linguistics journals, and there has been discussion of things
like double submissions and anonymity of the review process.

If you are an editor of a journal, you are welcome to participate in the
e-mail list. In order to have your name added, please contact Brian Joseph
at bjosephling.ohio-state.edu.

The meeting at the LSA this year will take place on the Sunday morning,
January 8, from 10-11. All editors are welcome to attend. More information
will be forthcoming on the e-mail list.
